Dear Fellow Ministers of the Word,
Greetings in the Incarnate Word!
The air smells of everything that goes with the Filipino way of celebrating the Christmas Season. Shall we allow ourselves to be carried away with the commercial way of celebrating Jesus’ birth? Is this what Christmas is all about? Why don’t we give ourselves a treat different from what everyone else is doing? Why don’t we slow down a bit to listen to what our pope says in his latest exhortation on the Word of God?
The Episcopal Commission for the Biblical Apostolate (ECBA) will hold another seminar-workshop on December 19-20 on Verbum Domini for all who are interested. You - Lay women and men, clergy and religious, Campus Ministers, Rel-Ed teachers and professors, Catechists and Christian Living instructors - are all called to the Ministry of the Word. Come and listen to what Pope Benedict XVI says in Verbum Domini. Be inspired, be challenged, be updated as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The seminar-workshop will be held at the 2nd Floor, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, (CBCP) Conference Room, 470 Gen Luna Street, Intramuros, Manila. Our main speakers will be Bishop Pablo Virgilio S. David and Bishop Broderick Pabillo. Aside from input, there will be a sharing from someone immersed in the Word, an open forum, and workshop for creative application of the input for the respective schools and places of work of the participants. This is our way of reaching out to all of you to help in the biblical apostolate.
