BIBLIODRAMA

Bibliodrama is “Lectio Divina on stage”.  It was developed in the late 1960’s based onthe emergence of counseling, related to the name of Carl Rogers while at thesame time of the kerygmatic model, a pastoral approach of accompaniment andflowering of spirituality. The Bibliodrama by the Dutch priests NicolaasDerkesen and Herman Andriessen has emerged from a pastoral practice. It reachedthe Philippine soil in 1998 through the Episcopal Commission for the BiblicalApostolate of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines.

Bibliodramas found to be a very effective means of making people interiorize the message of God’s Word, in the Holy Bible, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.  Bibliodrama is a holistic involvement of mindand body. Through a personal encounter with the printed word of God in theBible and  with the Logos, the  WORD, the participants will know themselvesbetter and discover life deeply through and with others.
